I have a 12 week old male chihuahua who weighs 4 pounds. At 9 weeks, he weighed 3 pounds and 1 ounce. He’ll probably be bigger than the AKC standard, but how big do you think he’ll be as an adult?
it depends on the type of chihuahua you have. most usually don’t weigh anymore than 5 pounds but if yours is already 4 pounds at 12 weeks it’s going to get bigger than that. i have a 5 pound chihuahua that weighed 1 pound at 9 weeks so yours might be around 7-10 pounds fully grown.

The AKC standard for the weight of a chihuahua is 6 pounds so weighing 4 pounds at 12 weeks does seem to be more than usual. Have you been told by a vet that he is overweight? How much he will weigh as an adult will depend a lot on you and what/how much you are feeding. You can look on the back of the dog food bag you are feeding for guidelines on how much to feed. Green beans and carrots are good snack choices.
