How can I prevent my chihuahua from losing so much hair?
I have a 6 months old chihuahua and he's losing so much hair that it drives my parents crazy. I know chihuahuas lose a lot of hair. Brushing him doesn't help much. I heard there are pills and sprays that prevent hair lose. What are they? Can any one tell me the name of the pills and sprays?

He's probably changing from his puppy coat to his adult coat. There's nothing you can do to stop that.
Otherwise, just brush him daily and give him a high-quality diet (not supermarket crap).

I could be from the food you are feeding your god. I would make sure you have a small breed dog food. And give him a bath then brush him. This will help also.

The only thing I have every heard is to change their food. It is possible that your dog needs a higher protein diet. Consider 'Nutro' or 'Royal Canine' food. Breed specific blend.
The pet stores also have the doggie bath wipes (come in a container resembling baby wipes) that you can use every day to wipe your puppy down with.
Consider using Oatmeal shampoo when you bath your puppy also.
The 'rubber' mitts work good for gripping the loose fur. I use it on our Chihuahua. You are right though; they do a lot of shedding. We have reduced the shedding with the change of diet, the mitts, and the shampoo helps ( it is gentler ).
